Jeongsu Woo’s solo exhibition, Three Devils by the Bedside, is being held at Art Sonje Center, Seoul, from May 24 to June 30, 2024.
“Jeongsu Woo is an artist whose work has deconstructed and rejoined established narrative relationships as he refers to images from different eras, including Renaissance paintings, icons and historical motifs from medieval scriptures and philosophical texts, illustrations from genre fiction, and cartoons. Three Devils by the Bedside (2023–2024) which also provides the exhibition’s title . . . shows the artist attempting to return more to the story by way of layers of characters against a backdrop of various patterned fabrics that are sewn together.”
